Overview
Sailing Experience (adults)
Morning Session
With the prevalent weather conditions in the area, this session will concentrate on boat handling skills and will include.
- Side too mooring technique
- Close-quarter handling in the marina (360 turns 180 turns in confined space)
- Mediterranean-style mooring
- Explanations on lazy lines, anchor drop stern too mooring
- Simulations of the above
Timings: 10 am until 1 pm
Afternoon session
Taking the boat out on the water again conditions dictate better winds in the afternoon, which sailing an option and will include
- Raising the main sail and genoa
- Sail trim
- Points of sail
- MOB (Man Overboard)
- Anchoring techniques
- The roll of the flotilla crew, and bareboat hire
Timings: 2 pm until 5 pm
Previous experience: must have completed any of the cruising yachting courses starting from the RYA Start Yachting course up to RYA Day Skipper practical course.
